KAIAPHAS :: ebm/futurepop/dark electro

KAIAPHAS is the ebm / futurepop / dark electro project from Brazil featuring ZHYIN (a.k.a. Lord Kaiaphas), the former singer from the Norwegian black metal band, ANCIENT. Zhyin started this project with his friend, Victor Salles, in Rio deJaneiro, Brazil, sometime in the middle of 2003.

- As a musician/producer, Zhyin finds it impossible to stick to just one style/genre, like most other bands do. Therefore, the music of KAIAPHAS will always have a wide variety of styles such as ebm, futurepop, electro, noise, idm, trance, techno, industrial,etc.

- We are currently working on the material for our debut album which should be ready this year. After the material is completed, we're going to start shopping for a good label, that will release the album and give us the support we want. You can expect a very dynamic album with a wide range of electronic styles.

Encoder featuring Lady Omega - Slivers of Time

Encoder's long awaited album, Slivers Of Time, came out recently. The album's first track, When It Rains, features Lady Omega. The cd also includes 2 remixes of When It Rains by Ethereal Sedition (USA) and Liquid Newt (Belgium). Go to Encoder's page and buy the cd! Kaiaphas interview+track in Synthetics Mag

On 02/08/2007 , the issue 76 of Synthetics Magazine (Germany) came out, with our interview and the track, “Vile Vermin“.

This track is dedicated to the memory of Mauricio Mangia (r.i.p.), the founder of the annual Thorns Gothic Rave parties. He was a central figure in the Brazillian gothic scene.
Sadly, Mauricio was brutally killed in an attempted robbery in 2006. “Vile Vermin” is an angry song that talks about what happened to our friend and displays a strong disgust towards the lowlifes of the guettos who rob and kill innocent people.

The magazine will be on sale August 02. There should be a trailer with the compilation previews at their myspace page.

The fake Lord Kaiaphas

Apparently, there's an imposter in Virginia (U.S.A) who claims to be the Lord Kaiaphas. He has been pretending to be me for the past 4 years or more.

This imposter even convinced his wife, Rhiannon, that he is the Lord Kaiaphas. So much so, that she had pictures of me in her myspace profile as if I were her husband. I've been informed, that this imposter is not a musician and is of dutch origin.

Incredibly, this imposter even has a small following of believers here in America. He has also been making posts as the Lord Kaiaphas in some yahoo 360 group/maillist called "new_satanic_age " for quite a while.

My friends from Ancient and I are taking care of this situation. Hopefully, it will soon be resolved, otherwise we will have to take legal action, since this false information and the impression this couple was giving to people is harming the band Ancient, as well as my personal life and reputation.

Kaiaphas is moving to the USA

Next Week, Lady Omega and Zhyin are moving to America where they plan to finish the material for the Kaiaphas debut album. Lienhard will remain in Brazil since he's a college boy and needs to finish his education.However, when the time comes for the guitar recording sessions, he will then be summoned to America and will also be available for gigs.

Kaiaphas in Orkus mag 11/2006

We were featured in the November issue of Orkus magazine (Germany). Our track, "Always Invisible" is on the Orkus compilation 24 cd, which comes with the magazine. There is also a review of the track and a short bio of the band.
